I have enjoyed reading your blog very much and I would like to thank you for sharing your adventures. Scotland is a beautiful place. I have travelled to quite a few countries in the world, but the views in Scotland are the best of all. I originally lived in West London and now Devon and I got to see Scotland in 1989 when I did a charity run around the UK to raise money for cancer research. Scotland was awe inspiring and the people were very generous. Thanks again for your blog.
A friend of mine asked me if I would like to walk the West Highland Way. I am a 64 yr old lady who loves the outdoors, but have never walked a long distance before. I am in good health. Where can I get the best advice about how to get prepared for walking long distances.
My wife and I are coming from Australia next October and planning some walks around St Andrews. I see you have done the Kingsbarns to St Andrews part. Is that OK for casual walking or do you need proper boots and stuff? How is the leg from the Fairmont into St Andrews in particular, ie does it go along the beach or is there a path?
