NEW : See my campaign to establish a National Coastal Path here
Today’s walk was a bit of a plod along a windy B road, although the scenery towards the mountains made up for it towards the end of the walk. The first couple of miles followed the river to Rhegreanoch where I stopped at a book shop cum cafe for a coffee as we knew there wouldnt be any excuses after this point to stop and have a break since there wasnt any cafes, shops and few houses between here and the end of the day’s walk. The road wound on and was very narrow in places, especially where it skirted around the loch and I mentally took note that I’d have to drive my campervan back and to along this road a couple of times and would have to take extra care. After passing a fish farm and the track leading to Inverpolly lodge, the road opened out and some fine views appeared of the distant mountains of Ben More Coigach, Stac Pollaidh and Cul Mor. Eventually we descended down onto the long road that leads to Achiltibuie and the summer isles and we stayed the night at the camp site at Achnahaird.
